WILLOWS, Calif. (March 1, 2024) – The 2024 season kicks off this weekend for the Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA) West Championship at Thunderhill Raceway Park. With the series debuting the PSSA East and PSSA West titles, a $10,000 prize is on the line for each championship-winning driver. There are nearly 30 eligible chassis from manufacturers like Revolution, Radical, Ligier, Wolf and others; Hankook Racing Tires are required for all on-track activities.
Thunderhill Raceway Park was one of five new tracks added to the PSSA calendar in 2024, expanding the series’ nationwide footprint from eight to 12 events, and hosting two combination events that bring both the PSSA East and PSSA West Championship battles together at one racetrack.
“We’re excited to kick off the 2024 Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook season at Thunderhill Raceway Park this weekend,” said Rob Elson, Director of PSSA. “We had a very successful inaugural season last year with a lot of growth, but there’s still so much potential for more expansion in this series. We’ll crown both PSSA East and PSSA West champions this year, and award each champion a $10,000 prize. We’re working closely with the manufacturers, both in incorporating new cars into PSSA and promoting the series, and will also award a Constructor’s Championship to the manufacturer that accumulates the most points.”
The Thunderhill SpeedTour is the first race of the PSSA West Championship battle. From there, the championship will race at Sonoma Raceway, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Road America, Portland International Raceway, Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch and Circuit of The Americas. About Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook: Sanctioned by Parella Motorsports Holdings, the Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA) is designed to host owners of Radical, Ligier, Revolution and Wolf Prototype race cars in a sprint race format at some of the most iconic road courses in America. PSSA offers the opportunity to race for just one weekend or compete for the national championship.
