Prototype Sprint Series Association Kicks Off at Road Atlanta

CHARLOTTE (January 30, 2023) – Kicking off an eight-race schedule with events nationwide, the Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA) will take their inaugural green flag at Road Atlanta, March 23-26, as part of the Mission Foods Atlanta SpeedTour. Sharing the weekend with the Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA), Trans Am Series, International GT and Formula Race Promotions, the motorsports festival will feature something for everyone.

“We’re thrilled to be launching the Prototype Sprint Series Association in just a few short weeks at Road Atlanta,” said Tony Parella, CEO of Parella Motorsports Holdings. “With all competitors holding SVRA Super Licenses, we know the competition in this group will be top notch. I expect exciting side-by-side racing when this group is on track, not to mention a cast of beautiful cars. We think there is a lot of growth potential with this new series.”

PSSA will feature three 30-minute on-track sessions split between practice and qualifying on Friday and Saturday morning. Also on Saturday, PSSA will have its first 30-minute feature race, followed by a second 30-minute feature race on Sunday. The same schedule format will apply to all races this season.

With eight events scheduled, PSSA will move from Road Atlanta to a West Coast double-header with events at Sonoma Raceway (April 27-30) and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (May 4-7). From there, the series will visit Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (June 22-25), Road America (July 6-9), VIRginia International Raceway (October 5-8) and Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch (October 20-22), before crowning its inaugural champion when the season culminates at Circuit of The Americas (November 2-5). Additional details regarding PSSA rules and classes will be announced in the coming weeks on the series’ new website PrototypeSprint.com.
