PSSA Kicks Off Second Half of Inaugural Season at Road America

CHARLOTTE (July 6, 2023) – Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA) kicks off the second half of their inaugural season this weekend at Road America. With four events already in the books, the series has attracted drivers from three countries and seven states across the USA. This weekend’s event at Road America includes five drivers who are making their PSSA debut.

San Diego native Ron Fletcher currently leads the championship points standings after sweeping the West Coast swing at Sonoma Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Topping the speed charts for nearly every session, Fletcher led the field to the checkered flag in all four feature races with his 2022 Revolution A-1 500.

Zac Moseley first joined the PSSA field during the inaugural event at Road Atlanta in March. Then, the New Yorker made the cross-country trip to once again join the field at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Despite still searching for his first victory, the 45-year-old has never finished off the podium and is currently second in the points standings. Returning to the entry list with his 2022 Revolution A-1 500SC for this weekend’s event at Road America, Moseley has a shot to erase Fletcher’s 25-point advantage and overtake the top position in the championship battle.

Chris Hinojosa is third in points after competing in back-to-back events at Sonoma and Laguna Seca. The Colfax, Calif. native scored a pair of second-place finishes in the Sonoma event racing his 2021 Revolution 500SC.

After each completing weekend sweeps, Raiden Nicol, Peter Dyck and Danny Dyszelski are all tied for fourth place in the standings. During the series’ debut event, Nicol swept the action at his home track of Road Atlanta while racing a 2022 Radical SR10 XX in the PS1 category. Meanwhile, Dyck scored a pair of wins in the PS2 category while racing his 2020 Revolution 427 during the Mission Foods Road Atlanta SpeedTour. PSSA’s most recent winner is 15-year-old Dyszelski, who swept the action at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in his 2023 Radical SR3 XXR.

At the conclusion of the 16-race season, the driver who has accumulated the most points will be named the national champion and receive a $10,000 prize, as well as several product awards.

PSSA will continue its inaugural season this weekend at Road America. Tickets are on-sale now at RoadAmerica.com, with spectator gates open Friday through Sunday.
