Ron Fletcher, Chris Hinojosa Win at Thunderhill in PSSA West

PSSA East Championship to Kick Off at Eagles Canyon This Weekend

WILLOWS, Calif. (March 5, 2024) – After winning the inaugural championship in Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA) last year, Ron Fletcher jumped out to an early points lead, sweeping both sprint races in the PSSA West season opener at Thunderhill Raceway Park last weekend. Chris Hinojosa earned his first win in PSSA, taking the top step of the podium in the enduro race.

Driving his 2021 Revolution A-1 500 with a Batman paint scheme, Fletcher won Saturday’s Race 1 with a minute-plus margin, and went on to win with a 24-second gap in Race 2 on Sunday. In the enduro, Fletcher set the fast lap of the race, but it was Chris Hinojosa who led the field to the checkered flag in his 2021 Revolution SC. After competing in PSSA last season and finishing sixth in the standings, Saturday’s enduro victory was Hinojosa’s first win in the series.

With his two victories, Fletcher solidly holds the points lead in PSSA West. Hinojosa, however, is just 4 points behind in second after recording a win and two runner-up finishes at Thunderhill.

With the series increasing from eight to 12 annual events and forming an East and West Championship, each division will crown its own champion and award a $10,000 top prize.
